The 2007 annual report for the North Star Fund uses typography to create shapes that convey a deeper meaning.Matthew Anderson is a typography-oriented designer and you can tell that from his domain name: ampersanderson.com I really want to congratulate you, that’s a nice one! I wonder if anyone has called him that yet… I know I haven’t posted in a while, but let’s cut to the chase, regardless. I found out about Ampersanderson.com latest type work from ilovetypography.com, the greatest typesite of all. Mr Anderson is from Brooklyn, NY
and graduated in Seattle. He has a great resume and I like to see that he included the Tools for democracy in it. Made for the “North star fund”, this is an annual report of the organization which, for 28 years, stood for equality in rights, justice and peace in the city of New York. I think the Tools are very skilfully done. Constructing an object from words is a common theme; I think the twist is more interesting here, because it stands for a greater purpose.
